“Fannie’s Last Supper”: an America’s Test Kitchen special
Chris Kimball, host of America’s Test Kitchen, was the executive producer of this one-hour look at the history of cooking in America. He staged an elaborate 12-course Victorian dinner at his turn of the century brownstone in Boston’s South End. This is the promo reel for the show, which aired in 2010. An intrepid crew of chefs interpreted Fannie’s recipes, and cooked the entire meal on Chris’ 1890’s wood stove. Directing this program was a challenge, not only with seven cameras rolling the night of the big dinner, but a documentary approach that meant we didn’t know what the story would be before it happened. DGA Productions and Peak Productions co-produced the project, with DGA providing production services and Peak doing the writing, directing, and post-production.
